2 problems to fix before this skill loads or triggers reliably.

  • 2 to fix
  • 4 could be better
  • 2 OK
  • Fix:Name format"Meeting Helper" must be lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, 64 characters at most. Try "meeting-helper".
  • Fix:Says when to use itAdd a sentence like "Use when the user asks to ..., says ..., or shares ...". Without it the assistant has to guess.
  • Could be better:Description length30 characters. That is probably too short to say when to use it. Most good descriptions run 200 to 600.
  • Could be better:Names phrases that should fire itNo example phrases. Quote two or three things people actually type, like "make this shorter".
  • Could be better:Says when not to use itAdd one line on near misses, like "Do not use for ...". It stops the skill firing where it does not belong.
  • Could be better:Situations, not categories"Helps with" names a category. Say the situation instead: what the user is doing or asking when the skill should run.
  • OK:Written about the skillIt describes what the skill does.
  • OK:Instructions length3 lines.

What’s in the kit

Four skills for the mess agents leave

I run coding agents all day, and every task leaves a worktree, a build or an output folder behind. These are the skills I wrote to keep the disk and the skill library under control.

Storage Reset When the disk fills up
Lists the idle worktrees, old output folders, builds and caches your agents left, says why each is safe, and removes them only after you say yes.
Skill Audit When skills overlap or misfire
Gives each skill a one-line job, finds overlap, vague descriptions and dead weight, and writes the new descriptions for you.
Skill Improver When you change a skill
Runs the original and the new version on the same tasks, grades them blind and keeps the change only if it measurably helps.
Handoff When a chat gets long
Turns the chat into a snapshot a new chat can start from: decisions, dead ends, exact values and the next step.

How Storage Reset keeps your files safe

  1. 1It starts with a list. Nothing is removed by the plan, the snapshot or the daily report.
  2. 2Your assistant shows you the list and asks. Only a yes to that list lets it remove anything.
  3. 3Just before removing, it checks every item again and leaves alone anything that changed.
  4. 4Removing a worktree keeps its branch and its commits. Main repositories are never touched.
  5. 5Downloads, Documents, Desktop, Library, the Trash and anything a program has open are off limits.

It needs Python 3, git and lsof, which every Mac has. It also runs on Linux.

Set it up

Set it up where you already work

One ZIP, three places it goes. Start with the two or three skills that fit how you work.

  1. Claude app

In Settings, then Capabilities, turn on code execution and file creation. Then open Customize, then Skills, press +, choose Create skill, then Upload a skill, and pick one ZIP from the claude-app folder. Repeat for each skill you want.

  2. Claude Code or Codex

Unzip it and copy the folders you want from agent-housekeeping-kit/skills/ into ~/.claude/skills/ for Claude Code, or into ~/.agents/skills/ for Codex.

  3. Any other chat assistant

Open the paste-in file from the ZIP, copy the section for the skill you want, and paste it at the start of a chat or into the assistant's custom instructions.
