Set it up in four steps

  1. 1Unzip it

    Unzip the pack and open a terminal in the motion-starter folder. You need Node.js 22 or newer.

  2. 2Install

    Downloads Remotion and React. Remotion fetches the browser it renders with the first time you open the Studio or render. About 600 MB on disk in all.

    npm install

  3. 3Open the Studio

    Opens in your browser. The templates are in the Titles and Transitions folders on the left.

    npx remotion studio

  4. 4Change it and render

    Change the words in the props panel on the right, then render any composition by name.

    npx remotion render ShowOpen-16x9 out/show-open.mp4

The licences, in plain words

The templates
Free to use and change in your own videos. Please don't resell them as a template pack.
The fonts
DM Sans and Playfair Display, under the SIL Open Font License. Their licence files are in the kit, beside the fonts. There's no music, sound, footage or logos in the pack.
Remotion
Remotion isn't part of the pack and has its own licence. It's free for individuals, for-profit organizations with up to 3 employees, non-profit and not-for-profit organizations and anyone evaluating whether Remotion is a good fit, before using it commercially. Anyone else needs a Remotion Company License. Source: Remotion licence, checked 2026-10-04. Read the current terms before you use it for work.
