Algolia acquires Velou to add AI product-catalog enrichment

Algolia says it acquired Velou, whose AI reads product text and images to create structured retail attributes for search and recommendations. Deal terms were not disclosed. Algolia says the added catalog layer will work under its existing APIs; retailer conversion examples in the announcement are selected company claims, not general results.
