Cursor details how it cut token costs for longer agent runs

Cursor says changes to its production agent harness reduced user token costs by 7% without reducing quality. The work includes a roughly 66% smaller system prompt, dynamic loading for less-used built-in tools, explicit cache boundaries, lighter file-read line numbering, and more selective subagent delegation.
