DeepSeek sets Search and Fetch API rates and an October 31 billing start for agent tools

DeepSeek lists Search and Fetch at $0.75 per 1,000 successful requests for each standalone API. Calls through server-side tools in DeepSeek Harness, Claude Code and Codex are temporarily free for DeepSeek API users, with per-request billing starting October 31 at 16:00 UTC (November 1 at midnight Beijing time). The promotion does not make all standalone Search and Fetch calls free, and the company has not stated an account-specific allowance.
