EU consults on draft procedures for AI Office cases
The European Commission published a draft implementing regulation on how its AI Office would handle certain AI Act cases. It proposes access-to-file and confidential-disclosure safeguards plus rules for calculating and interrupting five-year periods for fines and their enforcement. Its scope is AI systems under the Commission’s direct supervision, including specified systems tied to a provider’s own general-purpose model or very large online platforms and search engines. The draft has not been adopted and creates no new penalty today.
