GitHub makes enterprise license checks enforceable before code merges
GitHub announced general availability of open-source license compliance on October 16 for Enterprise Cloud repositories with GitHub Code Security enabled. An enterprise ruleset can block a pull request that adds a disallowed dependency, and a new API can let coding agents check packages against policy before recommending them. The feature needs the specified enterprise setup; it is not a universal block on all GitHub repositories.
