OpenAI lowers the qualification threshold for its highest API rate-limit tier
OpenAI announced that five paid API usage tiers become Build, Launch and Grow. An organization can qualify for Grow after $500 in total API payments, down from $1,000 for the prior highest tier, and paid organizations move automatically. This is a rate-limit qualification change, not a token-price cut. The public rate-limit guide still displays the old tiers, so teams should check their own organization limits before planning capacity.
