GPT-5.5 retires from ChatGPT and ChatGPT-signed Codex sessions
OpenAI documentation says GPT-5.5 retired from ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work and Codex on October 14; for Codex with ChatGPT sign-in the effective time was 19:00 UTC. OpenAI API and Codex sessions authenticated with an API key are unaffected. Teams with saved model settings, agents, schedules or scripts selecting GPT-5.5 need a supported replacement. The Codex pricing table still lists GPT-5.5, so the dated changelog controls this status.
