Singapore issues AI risk guidance for financial institutions

Singapore’s Monetary Authority issued AI risk management guidelines for financial institutions on October 7. They address governance, inventories, testing, human oversight and third-party AI accountability. Core sections take effect October 7, 2027, with later sections phased to October 7, 2028. MAS says it intends further consultation on agentic AI in 2027; this is issued guidance with future effective dates, not a new obligation already in force today.
