Google agrees to backstop obligations on Anthropic data-center lease
TeraWulf reported November 4 credit-support agreements under which Google will backstop certain future Anthropic lease obligations at its Kentucky data-center campus. The roughly $19 billion figure describes contracted lease commitments over 20 years, not financing raised or a Google investment. The backstop is linked to project debt financing and its effectiveness depends on later data-hall commencement; phased service is expected from late 2027 into 2028. TeraWulf also signed a definitive construction agreement with Fluor.
