UK announces AI security and local adoption investments

The UK government announced a package for AI security, domestic capabilities and local adoption ahead of its budget. It includes £165 million for a National AI Biosecurity Initiative, £120 million more for the AI Security Institute, £60 million for a National Cyber Shield and £30 million for local AI partnerships. These are government plans and commitments, not a new AI law or measured economic results.
