OpenAI launches Images 2.6 with GIF creation and more precise editing

OpenAI released Images 2.6 in ChatGPT, Codex and the API. It says the model is faster and better at keeping characters, products and brand details consistent across edits. ChatGPT GIF creation is rolling out, and saved reference images can be reused in later chats. API developers get Flare and Sunburst variants, image markup, SVG export and a complexity control. Availability is global across ChatGPT and Codex tiers, while API usage is separately billed. Speed and usage figures are OpenAI claims.
