Google says it is expanding its free AI Educator Series to educators in the UK and Ireland, with virtual and in-person training, micro-credentials and a policy toolkit partnership. The stated 650,000 educators is the eligible audience, not a count of people trained.

Gemini CLI nightly fixes Enter and Space confirmation in selection lists

The October 3 prerelease repairs selection-list confirmation. This is a focused terminal interaction fix, not a model launch or a new autonomous capability.

    GoogleGemini CLI October 2 nightlyDeveloper

Gemini CLI nightly makes long sessions lighter and restores reliable interruption

The October 2 Gemini CLI nightly includes append-only history deltas and a rolling in-memory window, reconstructing older messages from its backing log rather than deleting them. Extension state gains atomic writes and backup recovery. Ctrl+C can again cancel an active request even with text in the input buffer, and ACP session loading resolves exact IDs while rejecting traversal. The fixes are verified in a prerelease artifact, not a guarantee that external tool side effects can be undone.

    GoogleGuided Vision in Gemini LiveModels

Gemini Live adds conversational visual assistance on Android

Guided Vision gives spoken descriptions and camera-reframing cues during a Gemini Live session, with settings, accessibility shortcuts, and TalkBack entry points. Google says it is available on Android 9 and newer where Gemini Live is supported. It can make mistakes and is not a mobility aid, navigation system, or obstacle detector.

    GoogleGemini CLI 0.64 nightlyDeveloper

Gemini CLI nightly protects parallel agent edits with atomic file writes

The October 1 prerelease serializes file-tool operations and writes files atomically to address lost updates and shadow Git collisions when tools or subagents work concurrently. It also fixes a headless CPU hang caused by scoped-package references and quoted code. The changes are in a nightly artifact, not a new stable release.

    GoogleGemini 4 ArgonModels

Gemini 4 Argon targets long agent workflows, with access limited to trusted defenders

Google announced Gemini 4 Argon for extended coding, enterprise work and defensive security, initially through its Fairwind trusted-defender program. Google describes a one-million-token output limit and reports internal agent-assisted code migrations. Wider developer and consumer access is planned, not generally available at announcement.

Gemini chat gets stackable skills and a migration path from Gems

Google is rolling reusable skills into Gemini chat with slash invocation, reference files and multiple skills combined in one task. Workspace rollout and sharing arrive later. Gems will be retired on different schedules for personal and Workspace accounts, with automatic migration; Google says the separate Labs mini-app experiment Opal will also wind down in November.

    GoogleSynthID BioPolicy & Trust

Google tests watermarks that survive from AI protein designs into the lab

Google DeepMind introduced SynthID Bio, a proof of concept for watermarking AI-generated protein sequences and structures. The researchers report laboratory tests in which watermarked designs retained function, and are sharing methods, code and research artifacts. They also identify deliberate tampering as an unresolved challenge. This is research into provenance and biosecurity, not a guarantee that synthetic biology is safe or a new regulatory requirement.
